Affordable Florida Gulf Coast RV Parks

We'd appreciate all suggestions for affordable ($600-$700/month) RV parks along Florida's Gulf Coast. We're not snooty, but we don't find Parks with a majority of Park Models as terribly friendly to Motor Homers. We'd like to fond something, January-April.

Do a google search for the areas of interest. I have been doing it all along the gulf coast and they are they, and does not take that much effort.

Michguy,

Rustic Sands in Mexico Beach fits the bill. MB is a beautiful, friendly small town. We have spent two Christmas / New Years there and really like it. It is right on the Eastern / Central time zone border, but in CT. So all the shows come on early. It is right next to Tyndall AFB and about a half hour from Panama City. Lots of unspoiled beach. They take PA so you can try it out for a couple of days first if you like (that is how we ended up spending the month). Low crime, layed back area, but not too far off the beaten track. There is a second CG in town as well. We were at the FMCA Midwest Area Rally in 2010 (WI) and the couple we were sitting across from at breakfast winter in there. So there are folks from up your way in the area.

Take a look at RICE CREEK RV PARK in Riverview, Fl. The park is a long time winter spot for mid west people. Very friendly. In the price range you noted. Part of the WILDER PARK SYSTEM. Look them up on the internet.

Looking for Florida Parks

Has anyone ever stayed at Cedars Lake RV Park in Homossasa Springs? If so, what did you think about it?

Try Camp N Water in Homosassa. It's right on the Homosassa River. Boat launch, marina, boat storage area, activities, close to State bike trail, great fishing. Very few park models, I think about 5 or 6. Plenty of Motor Homes, fifth wheels, and travel trailers. Might be just what you were looking to find. I have been there since October. Very satisfied.

We stayed in Cedar Key, Fl and the campground was pretty, but not much to do in the area. We then moved to Summerdale, Al and loved it! The area is beautiful, you are an easy drive to two big cities, but still out in the country. The Escapee park outside of Summerdale is 85 a week plus electric. Monthly is a little less. The sites are huge and everyone is very nice.
