Alabama US280

Found myself in Columbus GA and heading to the Rally in Nashville. One route choice is 280 to I65. Is this a better choice than I85 back to Atlanta

431 out of Columbus to Opelika than 280 north is a good 4 lane hwy all the way to Birmingham although you will go through a few small towns with some traffic. I much prefer that route than going through Atlanta. If I am really in a hurry I will take I-85 at Opelika to Montgomery that catch I-65 north. Neither Montgomery or Birmingham have the traffic issues of greater Atlanta but you would still want to try and avoid rush hours if you can.

Any route that doesn't involve Atlanta is the correct choice.

Well I tried it, not to bad, 10 t0 15 traffic lights. Going through Birmingham was tough even after we got on the interstate.

Good roads all the way
