Alamosa Colorado to Poncha Springs
Is Colorado rte 17 out of Alamosa to Poncha Springs okay for a motorhome with a tow, or should I take the longer way around on US 285?

Route 17 is a very good highway. You won't have any trouble at all. We've pulled that route many times towing our toad. Poncha Pass at the north end of the valley just before you get to Poncha Springs isn't all that bad either. It's considered one of the easier Colorado mountain passes.
