Alaskan ferry

I,m planning a trip on the Alaskan ferry next year from Bellingham to Haines. The fare for widths over 9' is 50% more and 103'-107" is 25% more. My 03 winny is 102" without the mirrows. Has anyone done this trip and removed the mirrows? Removing just one may get me to 107" and thats worth 600$. Removing both would save 1200$. Not sure if its practical or not. Any thoughts? My actual width without the mirrows may still be over 102" because of bumpers, slides etc.- John

I didn't have a width issue, mine was regarding length.

I was able to save money on the ferry to Haines by removing all the stuff I had lashed to my rear ladder thus reducing my overall length by a foot. Nothing was said about my mirrors.... but I was in an F350 and a 5th wheel trailer.

Can you fold your mirrors flush against the side without disassembling them?

My mirrors stick out on a fixed mount about 6 inches on each side so even if folded they add about a foot to the already 102". Just thinking that removal would not really be practical just because of the difficulty of driving on and off the ferry without the use of mirors. Even so for 1200$ it was worth the question.
