Albuquerque, NM. to San Antonio, TX.

After wandering the USA. for 5200 miles we are heading back to Florida. Map Quest has us taking Tx. highway 84 to Lubbock then TX. 87 toward I-10. Our GPS indicates TX. 84 to I-20 then several smaller highways to I-20. Has anyone recently travelled from Albuquerque, NM. to San Antonio, Tx. and can offer reccomendations for routes ? We want to stop in Lubbock, Tx. so need to route through Lubbock.

lubbock pretty much dictates I-40 to hwy 84 to I-20

if lubbock is out...
run I40 to amarillo and take us hwy 287 south to dallas and grab 35 south to san antonio, its 30 or so miles longer...

We used to run this all the time from abq to home in central Texas. Try this to Houston. Albq, Clovis, Lubbock, Abilene, Temple, College Station, Houston.

Edit: just read the title and it says to San Antonio so never mind this.

Or, just insert S35 at Temple to San Antonio, I10 through Houston to FL.
