You didnt state when you were pulling out.
As of right now, there is a detour for the flooded section where I-95 crosses I-40 south of Smithfield NC, but I-95 is still flooded at Lumberton NC.
The only way around the flooded section of I-95 at Lumberton NC, is to get off I-95 at Fayetteville NC, then take highway NC 401 south to Laurinburg NC to NC 74 south back to I-95. This info is details from yesterday, Thursday Oct 20.
It is said, not to use the GPS to route your travels around the flooded sections of North Carolina. The GPS is just not updated to provide this service.
Just a little out of the way to bypass Lumberton NC, but 401 is pretty good road & 74 is 4 lane.
