Angels camp to Death Valley

Greetings Fellow RVers. Trying to figure out the best way to get between these two places. Seems the truckers atlas is making me go quite around the park system. Then 190 into Death Valley seems to be a no go according yo California DOT. Any suggestions? Mighty obliged

190 between 395 and Paramint Springs is very steep with tight curves. We did it with with a 35' class A gas towing and it was definitely a white-knuckle drive. So bad in fact that about half way down we found a turnout and disconnected the car.

I just Googled your route and the option to skirt the north side of the park and enter on the east side is what I would do on any future visits. The Google estimate is only about a half hour longer.

BTW, we were not impressed with the campground at Paramint Springs. The ones inside the park looked much nicer.

Thx coupeville. I appreciate the advice and I will enter from the east. Seems like it will be a long day. But it’s all part of the adventure. We are staying at the Furnace Creek state park. Just another adventure. Cheers

Commercial trucks aren't allowed in national parks, for the most parkt That could be why you're directed that way. That happens a lot if you use the trucker's atlas.

We've drive 190 in both directions from CA Hwy 395 at Lone Pine into and out of Death Valley with our 40' motorhome towing the Jeep. No problem for us but you need to know what's ahead so there are no surprises for you. It is doable but not everyone would be comfortable. It just depends on how you feel about it with your vehicle and how comfortable you are on such highways.

Our reference has always been the "Mountain Directory for Truckers and RVers".
