Any one used this highway??
We are in the brownsville ,Harlingen area.We are wanting to go to big bend park ,but not sure what highway would be the best to drive a 40' with toad.Like to take Hy 83 to ,277 then 90?.Along the river side and not go east to pick up I-10.Any advice as to this route. We want to take our time so not in a hurry. But want to keep coach in one piece.
Thanks. Tim

I would not be comfortable taking 170 out of Terlingua to Presidio. We came down 385 and left up 118. 170 along the river is a fantastic drive, but not in a MH, for me. We are in Mcallen right now, headed for Tucson in a week. I like Rt 90 over I10.

Your rt. is fine. last over it Oct 14, lots of construction, should be complete by now. A couple ST. Parks to consider, Lake Casa Blanc in Laredo, and Seminole Canyon west of Del Rio. They have a nice hike into the canyon to visit the pictographs

If you want, check out Stillwells Campground. It is on a deadend road that goes to the left right before you enter the park. Really quiet there, and there is a ghost town at the end of that road in Mexico,,, kind of creepy.
