Has anyone traveled route 7 north from Hot Springs to Branson Mo? If so, how is the road for 38ft motor home and toad? We're looking to get from Kirby AR on highway 70 to Branson Mo. in April.
Thanks,

I traveled Highway 7 last year about this time (was going south) from Harrison (US 65) all the way down to I-30 in a 23 foot motor home and a toad, mostly in heavy rain.

I had no problem whatsoever - I can't think of anything which might cause a problem, even with a motor home that is 15 feet longer.

Nice trip - beautiful scenery. Please be careful, though - I'm doing this reply from memory!

Streamerman,

The last time I went up HWY 7 was in a 40 ft DP with a toad. It is not what I would call a "Sunday drive" but it is a pretty drive.

You will not be going up it on cruise control I can assure you that. But it is not a "White Knuckle" drive either.

Thee are a few campgrounds that will be a tight to get into on that route.

Petite Jean State park is a nice park to stop at. The Rockefeller Car Museum in right at the park too which is nice.

Just North of Hot Springs there is the Quachita State park (On Lake Quachita) that is Nice too.

Don't even TRY to stop at "Devils Den" state park with your rig. The road from Hwy 7 to Devils Den is one tight sucker. I went to it several years ago with a 32 ft fiver and "Lil Red". (F-350 Crew Cab Dooley) THAT was a tough one I won't do again!

South of Hot Springs there are a couple nice parks too, I just don't remember the names of them off the top of my head... (Gettin old and forgetful I guess) But De Gray state park is one of them.

Once you get North of I-40 (Russelville) the road opens up a bit. Once you get on HWY 65 (Harrison) most of it is four lane undivided highway.

Hope this helps ya some...
