I had followed my father one night and we got lost, ended up in the port authority terminal in NY city.

Just stick to the main roads, and bring popcorn to watch all the people when the traffic stops!
That is one place you would be better off going on off hours, Tuesday through Thursday between 9 and 11 then 1 and 3 are my first choices, Saturday is next and then Sunday before 12 noon.
Just bring patience. :-)

HoboPals-

Small world sometimes-

Have a great trip back home- I worked in a machine shop in Lynbrook until I went into the Air Force, on Prospect Ave, on the border of Lynbrook and Valley Stream (one block off Merrick Rd).

Cheers and drive safe- let us know how your trip went ,

Thanks, Max. It's been so long since I've even been back to the island - my Mom's funeral in 1995 - that I only remember main streets like Merrick, Sunrise Highway, Rockaway Blvd. I can't place Prospect.

The trip has been put off until the end of the month, but I will check back and let you know if I got lost for days on end. Hope my excursion doesn't go on like "Charley's" on the MTA. If I make a wrong turn, with my sense of direction, it wouldn't surprise me.

Thanks, again, for all your help.
