You would probably remember if it was !-10 as you would have used the Lake Pontchartrain Causeway, which according to the Guinness Book of World Records, is the longest continuous bridge passing over water. If you don't remember the bridge, you were most likely on 1-20.

Unfortunately there isn't a good route to take you to Freestone that doesn't involve secondary roads and the resultant much increased travel time. You coming down for the Spring Championship race?

I just drove I-20 across Louisiana this last Sunday , ran 65mph and found it rather smooth , sure didn't lose all my tires , there was a program on tv the other day showing all the roads in US are in decline ,Now 1-20 in Jackson Ms
was pretty bad but only about 5 miles and it smoothed. I can't see any roads so bad I would go out of my way to avoid . Maybe slow down on some stretches but not avoid

I went thru Cleveland last year on an elevated highway. They were tearing the roadway off, 3 feet from us.

I think the only way to avoid bad highways in the US is to cross the border to bad highways outside the US.
