Badlands Senic Byway Yes Or NO?
Anyone traveled S. Dakota RT 240 lately and towing? Unless I hear something bad we are going to give it a go in a day or two.
Thanks for any input.

The road is a little rough in areas and for the most part there are no shoulders. Nice scenery and take plenty of pictures. I would drive it with my rig.

I've towed across it several times. Some of the turns are a little tight, but not too bad. There some steep sections, but they tend to be very short. You should have no problems at all. Don't forget to stop off and see Wall Drug.

Badlands Senic Byway Yes Or NO?
We drove it two years ago, with toad. No problem, a definite must do. Astounding scenery- take pics. We spent the night at the Cedar Pass CG, then stopped in Wall for lunch.

We usually stay in Cedar Pass CG also. However, there are no hookups there. One year, with triple digit temperatures, we moved to a CG in Interior so we could run the AC.

A must see. I've done it 3 times in 36' coach & towing. Very little out of the way. Campground at Wall. If you go in the east entrance the visitors center is there and exit the west right in Wall.

Yeah... do it. We pulled a 29' trailer and no problems... I was amazed by the scenery. We stayed at a private CG just south of the NP Welcome Center. As someone said, don't miss Wall Drug. Cheap coffee, good burger and fries, good pie... can't go wrong. (They even have veggie burgers for those of us who prefer)

If I remember correctly, there are two commercial campgrounds just south of the visitor center, in the town of Interior. I believe that one is a KOA, and I can't recall the name of the other.
As for Wall Drug, yes. it sounds like a joke, but it isn't. Everybody should see it at least once. Plan on spending half a day there.

Howdy!
We visited the park last year and they do have a campground with water and electric hookups, and a dump station close to the vistors center that we stayed in for four night. Nice place great sunsets. One if the few National Parks we have visited that they don't restrict you to trails. Also worth a visit to Walls Drugs while your in the area.

The park's campground is very nice...and reasonable, especially if you have the Golden Age Passport (1/2 price).
It is well worth it to take the drive through the park.
