Bar Harbor to Truro , Nova Scotia

Has anyone made this trip or something close?
Wondering best route to take, we will be going 1st week of August

Last summer we did this route the opposite direction.....

2 out of Moncton, and pick up 1 into St John and down to St Stephen border crossing.

9 out of St Stephen and picked up 179 (I think this is how we got from 9 heading toward BH) into Elsworth and then down into BH.

Easy enough drive......

We did this in reverse as well. Use the Gm truck navigation system and had no problems.

A couple of observations about the trip. It's mostly a winding 2 lane road to the Canadian boarder. Construction is a season in Maine. And diesel stations are a bit far and few between in Maine between the boarder and the start of the interstate. We passed on the station just on us side thinking we would find another one soon after. Did not find another able to accommodate our truck and trailer until Amherst Maine. But they did have cheap t-shirts at $13 a shirt.

Map will show stations, but most are closed.

In Canadian side it's instantly interstate roads and fuel is not a problem.

If it wasn't so far from Detroit we would definitely hit the east coast again.

Impression of Truro was not the greatest. But only drove thru on way to Cape Breton NS and on way home from Digby NS
