Don't Do It

We've made this drive twice...both times in our CRV...a trip not to be missed, but DON'T TRY IT IN YOUR MH...you won't enjoy a minute of what should be a great trip. Take the toad, take a camera and have a great time. The only road we've been on that compares is the Road to The Sun in Glacier.

After you go over the BEAR TOOTH.....head over to western Idaho and the town of Lewiston ID, cross the Snake River and head to Enterprise OR, this will put you on the RATTLESNAKE......take fresh undies.....head to the "Stubborn Mule" bar in Joseph OR for a stiff drink....then the next day do USFS 39 over to Hells Canyon and up to Cambridge ID...the 21% grade will make you a true believer that you alone can can chase a bear with a switch and whip your weight in wild cats...then the Bear Tooth will be child's play....

I took a screen shot of your post. Will try your route. 21% grade --I guess that rules out the RV. LOL

All these roads are paved......narrow, twisty, steep, and in most places NO GUARD RAIL.....a real Thelma and Louise sort of deal....also....lots of motor cycles, classic cars, and we sometimes run our Alfa up and down USFS 39 to see if we can hit 140mph on the two long straightaways.....Bikers love the Hell's Canyon overlook.....try Hess Grade up from the bottom for a MH challenge, hit the car show in Joseph OR first week in June and just hang out in the Wallowa MTN's .....also lots of nudist area for free thinkers.....
