Beatty, NV to Lone Pine, CA.

In April we are meeting some folks in Beatty, then heading over to check out Lone Pine, Whitney Portal. Possibly considering a stop at Stovepipe Wells. I was wondering if 374 and 190 are doable in a large rig.

It's doable but be advised it is a very steep and windy road in places. In 114 miles you will climb from 3300' to 4800', down to -2', up to 5600', down to 1600', up to 5600', and down to 3800'. Be advised that in April the temps could be 90+.

Might want to download the 'Mountain Directory' app. Very useful in the west.

Very doable, west of Panamint as previous poster alluded to is some serious climbs and downhills and twisties, just take it slow , the roads are good. Out of Stove Pipe the road is straight and you wonder if your RV has no power, the long straight uphill grade will fool you, its a great scenic drive.

That's the kind of information I was looking for, thanks. More concerned about road conditions and hairpin curves than grade changes. As far as the heat, we are good with 90's as long as it cools down at night. We plan on dry camping in the dessert some, and don't want to use the genny more than necessary.
