We use RV Park Reviews :: Home and POI in Microsoft Streets and Trips and Google maps. To us, printed directories are cumbersome, heavy and often out of date. We threw them away years ago.

Ditto...

Keep in mind sometimes things just don't go the way a camper expects and lets off some steam.. So I read all reviews and even go the next step to see if the poster shows a certain history..

Woodalls and ditto RV Park Reviews :: Home.

I also like for iPhone/iPad:
RV Park Finder, this is the same as Trailer Life Directory already mentioned by previous poster.
AllStays Camp & RV
Oh Ranger!
Woodalls, this is the same as their large book.
Dog Parks
Passport America, if you are a member

For our last two seasons, we've used the TL paper directory. Our main criticism is how they tie CGs to a town. We're giving serious thought, for next season, to getting DW's netbook computer upgrqded to have enough RAM to handle the DVD version of TL and adding a GPS unit so we can say "here we are, what's close by?"

I like my Rand McNally RV GPS for that purpose. I go to POIs select nearm or near destination then select campgrounds. I don't think my GPS has all the CGs listed in a book like Woodalls.

i usually start with our own Campgrounds section just to see if one I'm looking at is there. I trust the folks here first. Then I'll go to rvparkreviews.com & take the ratings with a grain of salt. When ratings of a single campground range anywhere from low to high, there's gotta be a middle ground because someone was overly impressed & someone else was there on a bad day. You can usually count on campgrounds with consistent high ratings being as portrayed. I don't use the printed directories as, just like others have stated, they are probably out of date by the time they are printed.

Google Maps.

I Google the area I want to park in and type in "RV park". Google then lists any and all RV parks in the sector I have displayed.

I used to use Woodall's and a couple others but they don't list parks unless they pay for it but not all parks advertise.
