First trip. 2008 Ford F350 towing Bighorn 3055rl. Considering I75 south, then I20 west.
Lots of negatives posted here about using I40?
Any other recommendations would be appreciated.

We drove I-40 last summer from Memphis to Flagstaff. Didn't find it terrible except for a short stretch in OK City, and that wasn't an issue that day because it was raining so hard we (and everyone else) were driving less than 30 MPH.

Personally, I'd take I-20 west rather than I-40. I-20 will put you on I-10 around Van Horn, TX, and I-10 will take you directly into Benson. If you were to take I-40 all the way to Arizona, you'd have to come south on I-17, through Phoenix and Tucson traffic and then east on I-10 to Benson. Miles out of your way.
