best route between tucson AZ. and San Antonio TX.

My wife and I are planning on leaving Tucson AZ. in 3 days and plan on driving to San Antonio TX. We are traveling in a 26' bounder and originally planned on taking I-10 all the way , but I'm worried about finding enough places to stay and gas up at. We aren't in a big rush but by the same token , we don't want to travel a 1,000 miles out of the way either. Anybody familiar with this part of the country that can shed some light on this subject and maybe give us some advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for your replies, Bruc.

take the 10- no worries

I've done that trip many times, no worries on fuel or places to spend the night, I-10 all the way.

Last time we made the trip going from San Antonio to Tucson, we camped in Fort Stockton. The sign stated "No, It Isn't Always This Windy Here". There was a small flap below the sign, and after lifting it, it continued to say "Sometimes, It Is WINDIER"!

Short answer, I10 all the way. 900 miles. But there is a lot to see if you get off the slab. Are you just trying to make time? Not see any sights?
