Yes, that is a good route but CA has an RV length restriction on 199. His unit is prohibited - doesn't make sense to me because full size tractor/trailers use 199 daily. I live a couple miles north of the OR/CA border off 199 and often see motorhomes over 40 on 199 so I presume the length restriction is not strictly enforced but could generate problems if an accident happened.

Off subject a bit, but does that restriction pertain to 5th wheels also? I remember seeing it, but at the time our 5th wheel was 38 ft.

Twogypsies, you are totally right. Well 7 feathers is in Oregon Ha Ha!. We like Diamond lake, Fish Lake, and the Mount Mclaughlin area(lake of the woods).

Sorry to hear of the braking issues you experienced on 299. Were you happy with the park you chose in Medford? If so which was it?

199 NE to Grants Pass, I5 south to Medford and up the hill to Crater Lake. All easy driving.

I don't believe it applies to 5th wheels - just Motorhomes and buses. 45' Bus & Motorhome Map
