Best Route from Kingsport TN to Charleston SC

We are heading south this november. We would like to know which highway is the easiest drive - mountains, grades, curves etc - towing a 5th wheel. Hwy 26 or Hwy 40

Thanks Al

I am anxious to hear some details re the terrain. Is our information accurate that 26 is a little less curvy. Are the inclines about the same as 40. How many steep climbs and long down grades for each? What would you prefer to drive? Is it worth the extra miles to go to 26? Sorry for the questions. I would just like more details.

Thanks
