Best Route from Norfolk Va. to Route 96 in North Carolina

We will be heading to Fla. from Delaware soon and were trying to find the best route out of Norfolk Va. to get to 95. Google Maps show Rt. 13 to Roanoke Rapids NC. and Rt. 58 to Emporia Va. has anyone used either of these? Rt. 13 seems more southerly but we have no ideas of traffic etc.

If you want a real pretty drive and you're not in a real hurry to get on the Interstate, take 17 to (State) 64 to I-95. We've done that drive a few times and really enjoyed it.

Only problem with the US-58 route is right there in Emporia, their local law enforcement is extremely aggressive in their traffic enforcement program (they love to write tickets for anything) other than that 58 is a nice route

Hi..don't know if you've left yet, but we also went from Delaware to NC (and now on our way toward Florida). We have always done 13 to 58 to 95, but this time decided to come down 17 and it was a TERRIFIC drive. Very peaceful and on a Sat there was almost no traffic.
good luck
