Best route from Ohio to New York

My wife and I will be traveling from north central Ohio to N.Y. We usually like to stay off interstates and travel other roads, but it doesn't look like there is any choice except for I-80 across P.A. Anyone have any other suggestions?

You could take US 6 across northern PA. It has many sections of new 4 lane and is very scenic.

Second on 6. It's nice road. I have driven much of central and western PA and avoided interstates most of the time. Most of eastern PA should be easier. The exception will be some of the mountains where there are only so many ways through. The other side of that is most of the roads do a lot of up and down and around. ;-)

If you go RT. 6, stop by Marie Antoinette's ( bar / grill) at the crest of a hill on the south side about halfway between Wysox and Wyalusing.
It is named after the French queen because she planned to escape to her Asylum there. There is a huge parking lot with a scenic overlook you should not miss. Nice place to take a break and stretch your legs

If you take 6 as far east as Towanda, PA you can cut north to the super slab if you want to avoid the mountains around Scranton. That gives you the best of the pretty part and faster road when it gets closer to NYC if that is where your are headed for.
