Best route from Pa to Florida

I live north of Pittsburgh handy to interstate 80 near Ohio border. I was considering taking 80 to 76 to 77 instead of 79 to 19 to 77 thinking there will be less big mountains since 36' motorhome with 454 doesn't like hills. Would this be less stress on the coach and worth the extra distance?

Personally I would prefer the hills over PA Turnpike. I have found the PA Turnpike to be tough on the motorhome.

Hi Gormie,
I77 through West Virginia is about the worst choice for a coach that doesn't like hills. That stretch of Interstate is the only one I dread driving. To get around this, there is no good choice. Delaying crossing the Appalachian's until one gets to Chattanooga might be the best elevation choice, but there are many more miles involved.

77 through ohio is the worst snaking interstate to travel, 77 in W.V. isn't much better, I did it once. I am just above you here in Pa. I-79 is smooth and a good road.So my suggestion as I traveled it this fall is: I-79 TO R-19 TO I-77 TO I-26 TO I-95 Depending on where you are going.

Sounds good to me too.

Guess I'll bite the bullet and head down 79-19-77-26-95. going to Clearwater. Looks like going through Ohio and down 75 would be a lot more miles. Thanks for the input
