Best route from Reno NV to Grand lake Colo
I will be going to the Grand Lake Colo in June pulling a 5th wheel, Map quest has suggested two routes:
80E thru Salt Lake City to Heber/Vernal picking up the 40 East and then the 34 East
80 East then going down the Colo 125South the 34 East
Just wondering if anyone has any knowledge of these routes?
Thanks

Is this just A to B? Lot of fun will be missed, IMHO.
Rt 40 with Dino and Flaming Gorge ? Possible to Catch Steamboat Springs and Steamboat Lake SP on the way.
Or loneliest Rd RT 50 to I-70 Moab and a lot of Colorado........
But to answer your Question - my choice would be - 80E thru Salt Lake City to Heber/Vernal picking up the 40 East and then the 34 East.
Best of Luck,

The only thing I think you might notice would be Rabbit Ears Pass - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rabbit_Ears_Pass , which is not much to worry about. and just east,of/outside Steamboat.
You do understand that Grand Lake is in the middle of the Rockies, Trail Ridge is discussed often going through RMNP as one you might think about but it is East of Grand Lake. - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trail_Ridge_Road
Hard for me to be Objective, as I love driving in the Rockies and tend to go out of my way to enjoy the many Passes with all their Beauty. One you might also keep your eye on is Berthoud Pass RT 40 back to I-70, it can be avoided by taking RT 9 into Silverton. - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Berthoud_Pass
If you are nervous do a search on the Pass to see if it works for you, most are now on Utube.
Best of Luck, enjoy Grand Lake as it is a Special Place.
