Here's a very short YouTube of Hwy 264. It's a good 2-lane highway but there are very few places to pull over. Beginning May 7 there will be a big construction project from Window Rock to Ganado so it would be advisable to take I-40 and north on 191 to 264 at Ganado and head west from there.

Thanks for the video and advice. Would you post your source for the road construction info. My ETA is May 26 - Memorial day. I might try for an update on the construction info.

Here's the construction info between Window Rock and Ganado on AZ 264. It's an easy area to avoid, just stay on I-40 to Exit 333 at Chambers (Hwy 191) and take Hwy 191 north to get on 264 heading west.
