Best Route, Gardnerville, NV to Las Vegas

We will be traveling from Gardnerville, NV to Las Vegas, NV in late March. I'd like help with the best, shortest and quickest route. I don't mind 2 lane roads if they aren't too narrow. Our route so far is Hwy 395 down to Big Pine, Hwy 168 to Hwy 266 (or Hwy 6 from Bishop) to Hwy 95 and on down the Las Vegas. We' ll be driving our 38' Monaco and towing a pickup.

Thanks for any help, Rick

I don't know if there is a better route, but that's what Mapquest shows. Have a good trip and win some money.

I would take US-50 out of Carson City to Fallon and US-95 to Las Vegas. Look out for the traffic cameras in Goldfield 25 MPH! The route through Bishop has seasonal closings Dec10-Mar31. I lived in Reno for 12 years and have made this trip a number of times.

DO NOT TAKE 168 FROM BIG PINE TO LIDA. The road is not for RV's. Very steep and sometimes one lane.
Route 208 from 395 thru Yerington to Alt 95 to 95 is a good road. I have been on it.

Since Gardnerville is south of Carson City, you may not want to go back up north to 50 to cut over to 95.

Last July coming out of Yosemite, I took Rt. 120 (off Rt. 395 just below Lee Vining) to Benton, got on Rt. 6 to Coalville Jct. where it linked up with Rt. 95.

Desolate stretches but definitely easy routes for a RV with a toad.
