BEST ROUTE: Jackson, Wy to Salt Lake City

Wondering what everyone suggests. Map quest has two routes
1) U.S.-189 south to I-80 or
2) U.S.-26 to WY-22 to I-15S

First time out west in my 40ft DP, so I'm a little weary about steep passes.

So whatever the easiest drive is, that's what I'll take .

Thanks for your help,
Tipaulfla( I am a Florida boy, so that's my reason for avoiding steep passes)

WY 22 will take you over Teton Pass, 10% grade up and down the other side. Not recommended for RVs. US 189 is a pretty good route, some landslide construction south of Hoback Junction on occasion. (Just checked, no construction but falling rock warning 7/8/15) but the easiest from Jackson.

You could take US 26, which goers to Alpine, WY and then skirts Palisades Reservoir to Idaho Falls, S on I-15.

If you're coming from Yellowstone, you could go out the West Entrance on US 20 to Idaho Falls and I-15.

From Jackson, drive south to Hoback Jct. and west on Hwy 26 to I-15. It's almost a flat, scenic drive. No problems. If you need fuel from Jackson, there are some busy stations just south of town. Otherwise, Hoback Jct. has a huge easy in/out for big rigs...or wait until I-15. Have a good trip.

Definitely, do not take Hwy 22 out of Jackson - Teton Pass.
