In March you still can see plenty of snow. My preferred route would be I5 South to Mt Shasta Ca then HY89 to 44 into Susanville ca then over to Reno on 395 then to I80 to alt 95 to 95 into Las Vegas. There is both free or RV park camping at 7 Feathers casino at exit 99 on I5 and free parking with a free dump station at the El Capitan casino in Hawthorne NV.

If the road look too snowy out of Mt Shasta on 89 I continue on I5 to Bakersfield taking 58 to I15 into Las Vegas. We usually do a stop in Corning CA at the Rolling Hills Casino which has free parking or a nice RV park. This trip we also spent the night in the parking lot of Buffalo Bills Casino in Primm on I15 which is only about 45 miles from Las Vegas.

Personally I would take 9 to 542, then 542 to Bellingham and pick up I-5 South then I-405 to I-90, then I-80 to I-82, I-82 south to I-84, I-84 to Twin Falls, ID then US 93 south to Ely, NV, then US 6 south out of Ely to State route 318 continuing on 318 south and reconnect with US 93 continuing on US 93 to I-15 on into Las Vegas.

That's the route we take every year from Vegas to Birch Bay/Blaine WA.

Here's a link to the route we take: Google Maps

Best of luck and safe travels...
