Best route through Colorado Springs coming in on 24 and continuing west?

We will be traveling from Hwy 24 down to Colorado Springs and continuing West to Buena Vista. What is the best road to take a DP with a toad?
Just don't want to get in any jams.

Thanks

If you decide to take Hwy. 50 take Hwy.115 out of Colorado Springs to Hwy.50 its a good road. You can bypass Pueblo and save a few miles.

Hwy. 50 is a nice drive to BV you ride along the Arkansas River and will most likely see Rafters on the river.Salida is also a nice town.

Stay on 24 west through Colorado Springs, then up toward Buena Vista. It's a beautiful drive. Highway 24 out of the Springs is a 4 lane road until you reach the top of the mountains and it levels out at Divide. From there on, it's a 2 lane road, but an easy drive through some beautiful country. Done it waaay too many times to count.

Thanks for the replies. Our normal route is 50, but we're coming from the North this time and will stay on 24.
