Best route through Phoenix

Driving from Flagstaff to Buckeye, AZ with a 34 ft 5th wheel. Last time through the traffic was a bit intimidating. Is loop 303 the best route?

Welcome to iRV2. First post I see.

Timing is everything around Phoenix , 303 would be my choice for your destination coming from the north. 9:30 > 11:30 morning , or 1>3 afternoon.
The fact that every road around the area is in a constant state of construction , could mess you up , but without daily reports it's a guessing game.

I live just off 303 in Surprise and that's the only way to go. It is complete all the way from I17 to I10 although there is a big construction project where it connects to I10. 303 was a godsend to this area.

I went through the 303 - I10 intersection construction zone today and there was a flashing sign that says there will be a ramp closure this weekend. However I didn't get to see if it was east or west bound. Sorry. They do a good job of marking and signage tho.

Bnails52: From Flagstaff to Catalina State Park just take I-17 to I-10....no need to get on 303. From I-10 take exit 241 (Tangerine Rd) to Hwy 77. Then south on 77 a very short distance - quickly get in the left lane - and left into the state park. There will be a sign.

It won't do MACH 2, but I can get a sandwich and take a pee.
