Couldn't find a better route than the Interstate. On Sunday you should be okay.

Any interstate route works (good plan to pass through on Sunday) - enjoy the view of the Arch and the river...

What appears to be a good or bad route on a map when traveling across a major city like that can drastically change based on what is going on in the city from an event perspective. Whether you use Google Maps to navigate full time or not, I would turn Google Maps on outside the city and pick a destination on the other side past all of the freeway bypass opportunities and just let it guide you based on current construction and traffic conditions.

I would take 70 to 370 to 270E to 255 S and then pick up 64. But that's me (I use too live in O'Fallon)

The bridge in St Charles on 70 was a mess 6 months ago

I would use your route unless there is a Cardinal baseball game that day.

What date

Be sure to check to see if there is a St. Louis Cardinals Baseball game if you plan to drive through. 64 and 70 intersect just about the stadium. Traffic should be fine unless there is a game starting or ending during your travel through the city.

Look them up or post the date and I'll let you know.

If there is a game, use the before mentioned drive around.

Phil

Another option is to take exit 210A off of I70 at Wentzville, taking Rt61/64 (also 40). Travel east to I270 south to I255 east/North and meet I 64 in IL. This will avoid the downtown area. I travel a similar route quite often to avoid downtown St. Louis.
