Best route to Jackson WY. from Salt Lake city

We are heading to Jackson Wyoming from Salt Lake City. Google maps shows multiple routes into Jackson but I am concerned with steep climbs crossing the Tetons. Can anyone tell me which route would be the best one?

From SLC go east on I-80 until just past Evanston, Wy about 8 miles E until US 189. US 189 will take you to Jackson. You could also go I-15 to Idaho Falls, then east on US 26 to Hoback Junction, then north to Jackson. It's a longer route than the first one. DO NOT try Idaho Falls ID 33 E that turns into Wy 22 to Wilson, Wy. It goes over Teton Pass, 10% grades on both sides of the pass.

The easiest is staying on interstates until Idaho Falls. Then pick up Hwy 26 east to Hoback Junction, then north to the Jackson area. It's an easy drive. Hwy 26 and beyond will be nice scenery.

US 189 is 2 lane, with wide berms and on uphill grades usually has a passing lane. It's pretty good road and I wouldn't avoid it to take an interstate. It's 30 miles shorter to go US 189 than Idaho Falls/US 26.

Thank you for the welcome. We are making the trip with a few other people to camp in Jackson and Yellowstone for a week. It sounds like we are going through lava hot springs and soda springs then into Jackson.
