Billings Montana to Cody then east

Billings - Hardin Montana area to Cody than east. 36' bounder towing.
Taking 16 up to billings than down, ive read the stories about 14 and 14a any thoughts in best roads?
After Cody, connect back to 90 east but 14 and 14a direct route...better alternates?
Thanks!

In July we traveled east from Cody to Sheridan across the Bighorns on 14. (14A is NOT recommended for big RVs.) There was road construction on the west side going up and traffic was very slow. Some tight places for our 40' Berkshire towing a Honda Accord, but manageable. Lots of curves/switchbacks coming down the east side, but also manageable if you take your time. It's a beautiful drive and worth the effort in my opinion.

Take 16

JUst traveled from east on 90 to Cody via 16 at Bufalo, WY. From 16, went southwest to 431, then northwest on 120 to Cody, very easy. Leaving Cody, took 120 south to themopolis, then west on WY28 through South Pass, also easy. Note, when I left Cody on 9/16, Yellowstone East entrance was closed due to snow, a big storm came through
