Can anyone offer any suggestions about our proposed route in early September? We will be using our 31" 5th wheel on our first long trip to Glacier and then on to Yellowstone. I have seen some post that say "take it slow and you will be fine", but I don't know exactly what that means.
Thanks in advance for your help.
Ed

We make this drive every summer on US 95. Many sections are two lane only. There are three big grades traveling north, Horseshoe Bend outside of Boise, White Bird Hill between Whitebird and Grangeville and Lewiston Hill, which climbs from Lewiston to the Palouse. We pulled a loaded tent trailer with a Ford Windstar on these grades (I know...we were probably a bit underpowered) and we did fine. Parts of the the two lane sections can be narrow and twisting, we take it easy and use the pull-outs to let people pass us. It is beautiful country and you won't regret traveling through it.

We thought that toughest part was Hiway 89 from Browning into St Marys. Very narrow and very twisty. 2nd gear in a few places and maybe 15-20 mph around some of the corners.
