Buffalo to Martinsville VA speedway

Heading out tomorrow night from St. Catherines Ontario to Martinsville Speedway with two vehicles 1) a 34' Holiday Rambler Vacationer XL motorhome 2) a 2016 F-150 towing a 27ft. travel trailer (towing setup well).

Google maps offers three options
1) 77 through Akron, Charleston (12h 25m)
2) 79 through Pittsburg (11h 48m)
3) 219 / 99 to winchester and join up with 81 (11h 55m)

This post here says to head across to Syracuse and head straight down 81 to Roanoke. According to google this is a 13h 35m route.

For some reason my buddy wants to take route 3 above (because its the shortest according to google I assume) but I dont want to put all our faith in Google.

Any advise on a route?

Myself I'd probably take US 219 south, I-80 east, I-99 south, I-76 east, I-70 east, I-81 south, and US 220 south to Martinsburg. Google maps shows this route at 554 miles, and 9hr. 51 min. from Buffalo.

I'm curious, why you would choose that route over this one going through Pittsburg. Basicaly the same distance and time.

It is road conditions? Nicer drive? Less Traffic?

atreehorn, less traffic, less construction, easier drive, a number of reasons.
