CA 79 from Banning to Temecula

Anyone know if this is a good route for a 37' motor home with a tow vehicle?

Before they built I-215, 79 was the major route through that area. I have driven it many times and do not remember any spots where a large MH with toad would have difficulty. Taking Sanderson Ave. instead of following 79 through San Jacinto and Hemet saves a bunch of time and frustration.

Hwy 79 goes right through the center of town in San Jacinto and Hemet...lots of signal lights and traffic. It's slow but no problem, if you want to see the hubbub there. And there are still lots of lights on 79 through Murrieta, but it is a large divided parkway, so no issues.

BTW, I-215 roughly follows the old route of Historic 395...but it is not a leisurely drive anymore

Safe travels

I retired out of Temecula. It is the only route I take. 37'er towing a Honda. If you're going to Temecula, you are probably staying at Pechanga. If that's the case, take Scott Road in the Menifee area over to the freeway. If your staying at Lake Skinner you'll likely also use Scott Rd, but you'll turn left instead of right. And . . . If you're at Pechanga, Temcula Pizza, up by the freeway . . . Best there is.

If you really want good pizza, drive south on I-15 to El Norte parkway in Escondido, turn right and go to Killer Pizza from Mars at the west end of the Vons shopping center on the right.
