CA - AZ Trip

We're going south this spring to see friends in CA & AZ. 1st stop is Aptos & we've got the route, but 2nd stop is Palm Springs. Is there a good way to bypass LA? We'd REALLY like to avoid going thru it. Thanks for any help!

Look at taking 126 off 5 going to Lancaster, then 14 to 138 towards San Berandio the 10 to Palm Springs. Will keep you out of L.A. But don't know how those roads are.

We always avoid most of L.A. by using highway I-210.

I agree with Mel. Take the 210 to the 10 which gets you to Palm Springs.

The key word is "most". Any road in the greater LA vicinity has the potential to morph from a freeway to a parking lot in the blink of an eye. If that happens, just take deep breaths and relax.

We are at Sands RV & Golf Resort in Desert Hot Springs, CA. Or as DW calls it "the cheap side of the 10 from Palm Springs. This is our third year and have yet to go anywhere near LA. There are several route to avoid it from here.
