Calexico to Idaho Falls ID

I am planning a trip to Idaho Falls Idaho late September. I don't usually go that far north in September October, but I'm attending a wedding so this is special. I hope I don't get caught in an early snow storm. Google says I-15 is shortest and I am not interested in scenery or tourist stuff I just want the shortest run and less hills the better my rig is older and I don't care to strain her on long steep hills. I'll be towing a GEO tracker too.

I just want to get there attend the wedding and get out before the snow flies.

Any ideas for a better route ?

For the purposes you stated, I15 will work nicely for you. Weather in late Sept is not a problem, in fact I prefer traveling that time of year. The highway is in pretty decent shape, I traveled it two months ago from Montana to So. California.

X2 Dieselclacker's comments, in fact your main problem will probably be hot weather.
