California 99 N/B

Hi...It's been a long time since I have travelled Ca. Rt 99 N/B towards Sacramento. It used to be very rough. Is it still that way. Thx. Len

Considering the condition og highways in Ca N/B 99 is not bad. There are a few strtches that need repaving, but when I travel North from Bakersfield to my home in Manteca (65 miles south of Sac) it is my choice vice I 5

i use 99 from bakersfield to french camp road and then switch over to 5 enroute to oregon. 99 is better than 5.

Unless I have a specific reason, I use I-5. 99 still has way more exits, goofy traffic nonsense, and a few lousy paving sections, so that it will be more work than I-5. But occasionally I take 99, usually if I leave real early so I get 3 or 4 hours in before daytime traffic takes over.

99 has way more traffic than I5. Also has alot more CHPs. If pulling a toad watch you speed on 99.

I can vouch for more CHP and watching your speed, if towing. They will get you quick
