Can anyone recommend an RV park with good proximity to I-10 near Mobile? It will be an overnight stay, so no interest in local attractions or amenities. Just want a well-maintained, safe spot to sleep. Actually, any place along I-10 in Mississippi or Alabama will be great. Thanks.

Also, can someone recommend a good campground directory or online information source? Thank you.

Here's a story......

Two years ago we were headed west on I-10 out of Florida. Looking for a spot for the night, my wife found Shady Acres CG in Mobile, AL. We were told they had a pull-through available for us.
Just after I pulled up at the office and was recording mileage, etc., I noticed an older gent waiting at the front of our MH. When I got out he greeted me by name - he was the owner. He apologized profusely, saying he was sorry, but he really did not have a pull-through available. Pointing to his car, he said I should follow him through the campground. After driving some distance we went through a gate in a fence and arrived at a house. He said we were to park next to his house for the night, on their personal RV spot with full hook-ups! I thanked him and said I would be up at the office shortly to register. He said "There is no need to register - there will be no charge since I said you would have a pull-through, but I could not provide that."

We were floored by his generosity and Southern hospitality.

The CG is about 1/2 mile from I-10 Exit 22 in Mobile.

If you stay there, tell him a fellow traveller from Florida recommended his CG.

I-10 campground exit 13 Mobile, 1/2 mile from interstate 10. Not much to look at but had good power. 25.00 a nite.
