Question Cass Scenic RR, WV

Planning a trip later this month to WV. Looking for info on access road to Cass Scenic RR (219 to 66 to ???). Wondering about the grade - long pull? Narrow and winding doesn't bother me... Anyone know if they allow you to overnight in the parking lot for the train? Long day on the train, late return - hoping to spend the night there to depart in the AM. any info appreciated! Thanks! ST

There is a CG not too far from the train. We were there a couple years ago. Depends on which direction you come in from. Very hilly both directions. Lumber trucks on the western way in and narrow, no guard rails. Went out the east. 32 ft. Class C with a 20 ft. car trailer. Very nice area and train ride. We were there three days and plenty to do. Now the fun part. One radio station only during the daylight hour. No tv unless you have sat. NO cell service any where! There is WiFi at the store at the train. Hope this helps.

When we went there we stayed in the campground in Durbin... not too far away. Durbin offers another train ride as well that was a good time. The campground was very quiet and scenic - full hook-ups including cable since there is very limited over-the-air available due to the the radio observatory in the valley. Lots to do in the area- have a great trip!
