We're going to Vancouver BC in September for a week with 2 grand kids (ages 3 & 4) and our Silky Terrier. Any recommendations for CGs in the area? We've never traveled in the MH in Canada. Are there any special things we need to know? I understand I need certified copies of the kids' birth certificates. Plus we need a vet's certificate for the dog. We would like to stay close to town versus out in the boonies. Thanks!

Yes you will need a health certificate. Most Vets write them for ten days. If that does not fit you schedule any local vet it Whatcom county will write one. I am sure many others will chime in about firearms and passports. In short, firearms no, passports yes. Enhanced drivers license will work but nothing like a passport to prove citizenship for you and your children. I assume both the legal mother and father of your children will be traveling together. If not it could get sticky without permission. As for a place to stay. Vancouver is a BIG, beautiful city. Think L.A. of Canada. Your best bet is to stay outside the city and travel into the city by toad or public transportation. Avoid rush hours. Did I say think L.A. of Canada? We like Fort Langley RV Park. Enjoy the city it is wonderful. Be sure to take in Chinatown and Grouse Mountain.

Hello Opa Ron, well - welcome in September to this nice spot... You need a Passport to get back into the States and you need a letter of "permission" from the PARENTS to take the grandkids across the border.
Our favorite CG is in Fort Langley (Fort Camping).

www.fortcamping.com

We just live 10 miles away from there and go with our grandchild once or twice... Lots of trails for your pet, firepit and lots of space... You do not feel and hear the next RV....it's clean and a pool, store, propane etc is there...
Have a safe trip and enjoy your stay here in the Vancouver area.
Auf Wiedersehen

RVgreetings
TW (also an Opa)

PS: if you need more questions answered, just give me a message
It's a gated RV Park, so - very safe
