What's it like to do Chicago early morning hours...4 to 5 AM or late night....10 to midnight. Planning a route back to Montana from WV via Columbus Ohio and Milwaukee WI. Pulling a 22ft Airstream Sport.

Minimal traffic 4am. At 5pm on weekdays, it starts but is still flowing fast. If you skip Milwaukee, take I-90 to I-39 to I-74 to Indy and I-70.

Another iPhone App - "Beat the Traffic"

We use an iPhone app "Beat the Traffic" as a way to see what roads to choose or avoid. I use it in Dallas regularly and have used it in other areas too while on RV trips.

Regards, Jerry

Unless you need to go to Milwaukee, I'd go on I-70 and avoid the tolls. At Indy, get on I-74 to Moline and I-80. Just before Omaha, I-29 to Sioux Falls, then W on I-90.

Would to do the UP of MI again, but timing on this trip won't work. We have ridden motorcycles from TX to the UP a few times and would love to explore by RV - maybe next year?
