Going North is it better to stay on I-75 thru Cincinnati or go 275 around. Thanks for your input.

Go around....

I-75 has construction all through downtown and lanes are constantly shifting left & right.

My suggestion is take I-275 around the west side of the city. It's wide open and minimal traffic.

Only caveat to this, would be on a Friday afternoon, when everybody & their brothers are getting off at the Lawrenceburg, Indiana exit to go to the casinos.

Safe travels!!

Time of day is the key for me, I'd say between 9 and 3 it's a wash, before 9 and after 3 I would use 275.

Go around. I don't like the congestion (at any time of day) going thru Cinci & with the constr it'll be worse. We always take 275W.

We always just go around. Much less traffic and we have traveled that way many times.

If traffic isn't backing up due to rush hour I always go straight through Cinti on I 75. Never had an issue.

I make the run through Cinti 4 to 6 times a year from Middletown, OH to points south and back.

The construction is not that bad right now.

I'm very used to highway travel, so I'd have to agree with the above assessment. I travel this route about once a month and have never seen any real problem outside of rush hour...

I live NW of Cincinnati in the next county and travel these roads daily when in town. If you are headed South through Cincinnati on I75 try to stay clear of the morning and evening rush, as others have said, and you should be OK. Because of where I live I generally take I275 West because it is shorter to get to I75 south of Cincinnati and it is not as congested...safe travels!
