Will need to travel this spring from Coeur d'Alene to Mountain Home Idaho.

If any of you have recommendations as to the best way to make the trip, thank you for your input.

Have been told 95 through Lewiston is not big rig friendly and maybe 195 would be better.

Anyway thanks again for any information.

We've driven US95 several times, towing our trailer. With the exception of the long pull up and down the Nez Perce Indian Reservation, I don't recall any significant problems that would prevent me from recommending it to you.

If you are looking for a longer, but easier route without the altitude, you might consider I-90 west through Spokane, and take 395 into Oregon, then southwest on I-84 into Boise and on to Mountain Home. Its about 75-80 miles longer than going directly south on US-95.

Thank you for the input.

Will assume that at New Meadows we go East and take the scenic route to Boise on 55. Hope that road does not scare us!
