CR-623 in Oregon

One of the places we plan to visit this summer is Crater Lake, OR, staying at Crater Lake Resort. On leaving Crater Lake, we plan to continue north on US-97 to SR-58, where we will turn toward Springfield. My question - upon leaving Crater Lake Resort, should I back-track down SR-62 and pick up US-97, or can I continue north on CR-623 and connect with US-97?
Would appreciate any input.

I just did that trip last year, however I did it in my car. There should be no issue for a MH, just be very cautious the first few miles while on the Rim Drive. Once you drop down from that it is a great road.

Enjoy the views, and make sure that you bring your camera. If you feel in shape, try to schedule a boat ride out to Wizard Island. Very cool , very informative and of course very fun ! However it is a 1.1 mile trail down to the lake, with a 700-800 foot drop in elevation. Easy to go down, a little more difficult to go up and bring your mosquito repellent (they are bad within the shade of the trail).
