Crater Lake National Park

Traveling to Crater Lake RV Resort in Prospect, OR for 4 days as we explore the NP. We plan to drive south on 97 then west on 138 to 230 where we turn South again.

Has anyone made this trip in a 35’ Motorhome with a tow?

Wondering if route is ok?

The roads coming into Crater Lake from any direction are just fine. We've stayed at Joseph Steward State Rec Area and also at Collier State Park. We've also done a day trip from Roseburg via 138 east. Enjoy!

97, 138 and 62 are fine for you. I can't comment on 230 as the last time was maybe 1974 or so, that road report might be a tad old. But I doubt that you will have any problem.

We took all of those roads last summer in our 36’ Country Coach towing a Jeep Wrangler. You won’t have any problems on any of the highways you listed. However, I would make some calls to find out if the area you want to visit are damaged or closed after the horrendous fires they had last summer. We were fortunate to have visited before the fires. Wonderful place to visit. We stayed at Mazama Campground (Crater Lake National Park) where there were a number of spaces where we could fit. There are some sites with water but it is otherwise all dry camping.

All roads will be fine. I grew up right down the road from there and make an almost yearly pilgrimage back there to see family. Did crater last year. Rim road had construction last year, not sure if it is still going on so traffic was slow. Other than that it was great
