Leaving Central Conn Rt#95 early AM on a Sunday morning first week of May heading to Myrtle Beach. Class A towing 4 down. Usually use GW bridge and 95 south through NJ. What is the best work around for DC and Baltimore for a mid day Sunday. Only target is northern Va by days end. Yes I have LP on board.

take I-95 south into NJ then take I-78 West into PA (only about 50 miles for I-95 to PA border) to I-81 South. In Staunton, VA. take Route 64 back to I-95 near Richmond.

If you prefer staying on/closer to I-95:
- in Baltimore go east on I-695 across the Key Bridge to rejoin 95 south of the city; or if especially windy, go west on 695 and rejoin 95 south of the city (no bridge, no toll)
- I-495 is the only way around DC; 495 West is preferred routing.
But I like K-Star's route better if it suits you.

Hi bdaball,
I agree with both of the above posters on there routes, but I do like I-81 better then I-95! Out of my last 6 North to South trips I used I-81 five times and I-95 once, just my 2 cents worth!
