We recently purchased a 2001 Monaco Dynasty and are planning a trip from Dover Air Force Base, Delaware to Westover Air Force Base, Mass. Can anyone suggest the best route to take thru New York with a 40 foot rig?

I would suggest I-95 to Jersey Tpk, then I-287 around to the Thruway(I-87)
North at Suffern, and up to Newburgh and then I-84 East to Mass.
Done it a number of times, easy in a big rig. If you do not have
EZ Pass, get it before you go.
From Dover to towards Philly to I95 to the northeast extension of the turnpike (near Chester) to the Scranton area to I84 to I87 to the Mass Pike
You will have tolls but you can avoid NYC traffic altogether
