Duck Creek RV Resort, Muskegon, MI to Indigo Bluffs RV Resort, Empire, MI
I am looking for the best route from Duck Creek to Indigo Bluffs.
I've checked Google, Garmin, map tech and my map book as well as my yruckers guide.
I see Hwy 31 north then a county rd 677 to hwy 72.
Another takes me through Traverse City then West on 72.
Another suggests along the coast, hwy 22, then turn East on hwy 72.
Is anyone famaliar with this part of Michigan and have any ideas.
We are in a 37' DP towing.
Thanks,
Wm Mayberry

Around Manistee take 22 to Empire then a little east on 72.... about 120 miles and a beautiful drive.
All roads mentioned are good for a big rig but you'll have a lot more traffic if getting close to Traverse City. Actually, this is an extremely popular area so just go with the flow and enjoy the drive.

We were there last year in our 40’ with tow. Traverse City was the bottleneck. We came in on 37 and the GPS routed us along the bay in Traverse City to 72 west. It’s a pretty scene but very congested with a tight turn or two. Going home we avoided it by traveling south on 677 then heading west into Traverse City. I believe the road into Traverse was 31, but I’m not positive.
Enjoy your stay at Indigo Bluffs. It’s a great campground.

When we leave, we are going up to Mackinac, so I guess we'll have to go through Traverse City.
Thanks for the heads up.

The easiest way from Indigo to Mackinac would be M72 through Traverse City. It does get congested, but it normally moves pretty well. 72, and 31 are the same road through NE Traverse City. (Also M37 for a ways, but don't take M37 when it goes north on Garfield.) When 31 and 72 finally split, you can take 72 straight west back to the freeway, or take 31 meandering up to the Bridge. (31 is the slightly shorter and prettier route, but 72 to I75 is a little quicker) You pays your money, you gets your choice!
Have a good trip!
